The cross, with trefoil terminals, rises prominently from the top of the monogram. The date 1687 appears in the exergue below the monogram. The surrounding circular legend VIRTVTE PROTECTIONE ('By virtue and protection') runs along the upper periphery, enclosed within a beaded border. |
