| Obverse description | Draped laureate bust of Ferdinand VII facing right, rendered in the armored colonial style typical of New Spain provincial mints. The legend FERDIN•VII•DEI•GRATIA encircles the effigy, reading from lower left around the periphery, with the date below the truncation in the exergue. The portrait exhibits the characteristic somewhat crude workmanship associated with the Zacatecas mint during the royalist period. The field is plain, and the entire design is contained within a fine beaded border. |
