| Obverse description | Central field bears the quartered royal arms of Spain surmounted by a royal crown, the shield displaying alternating castles and lions in the traditional Castile-León arrangement with a central oval escutcheon. The arms are rendered in crisp relief against a plain field. A continuous circular legend in Latin characters runs along the periphery, separated from the central device by a beaded inner border. The overall design follows the heraldic style standard to Spanish colonial proclamation coinage of the early nineteenth century. |
