Obverse description Draped bust of King Fernando VII facing right, rendered in the armored portrait style typical of Royalist emergency coinage from the Durango Mint. The effigy displays the king with flowing hair and a truncated neck, set within a circular legend. The portrait is characteristic of the provincial dies used during the Mexican War of Independence period, showing a somewhat crude execution relative to metropolitan Spanish coinage. The date appears in the legend, flanking the royal effigy. The field surrounding the bust is plain.

Reverse description Crowned Royal Arms of Spain featuring the quartered shield with castles and lions, flanked on either side by the Pillars of Hercules with scrolling banners. A crown surmounts the shield, and the entire composition is enclosed within a circular border. The denomination numeral '2' and the mint mark 'D' along with the assayer initials appear within or adjacent to the shield design. The legend encircling the reverse identifies the monarch's dominion and the issuing mint. The overall execution reflects the emergency coinage characteristics of the Durango Mint during the Royalist period.
