Obverse description Draped bust of King Ferdinand VII facing right, rendered in a neoclassical style with wigged hair and a plain truncation. The peripheral legend reads FERDIN · VII · DEI · GRATIA · in Latin characters, distributed around the upper arc, with the date 1812 prominently placed in the lower field below the effigy. The portrait is unadorned, without laurel or diadem, consistent with the so-called 'imaginary bust' coinage struck during the Peninsular War period.
