| Obverse description | Central field displays the crowned arms of Navarre — the characteristic gyronny-style chain device composed of interconnected roundels forming a geometric lattice pattern, representing the traditional escutcheon of the Kingdom of Navarre. A royal crown surmounts the shield at the top of the field. The legend PHILIPPVS IIII D G REX runs around the periphery, partially visible given the irregular octagonal flan. The overall style is consistent with mid-17th century hammered coinage produced at the Pamplona Mint. |
