Obverse description Central field dominated by the full crowned royal arms of Spain, displaying the quartered shield of Castile and León with the Granada escutcheon en pointe, surmounted by a large ornate royal crown flanked by supporters. The mint mark 'B' (Burgos) appears to the left of the shield alongside the assayer's initial, with the denomination mark 'II' to the right. The circumferential legend reads CAROLVS · II · D · G BR II, separated by rosette or cross ornaments, and the entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
