Obverse description The obverse presents a bold tughra — the ornate calligraphic monogram of Sultan Hussein Kamel — occupying the central field in an elaborate Ottoman-influenced style rendered in high relief. The tughra is flanked at the lower portion by symmetrical foliate sprays extending inward from both sides, meeting at a stylised floral ornament at the base. The Arabic legend naming the Sultan and the regnal year appears integrated within and around the tughra composition. The Hijri date 1333 is inscribed in Eastern Arabic numerals below the tughra, above the central floral device. The reeded rim frames the entire design, with no inner circle present on some varieties.
