| Reverse description | The reverse displays a Hijri date rendered in Arabic numerals within the central field, struck in the coarse hammered manner characteristic of Tunisian copper issues of this period. The date inscription occupies the majority of the flan, surrounded by an irregular granular border. The flan is irregular in outline, consistent with hand-cut planchets used for small-denomination circulation coinage under Mahmud I. |
