| Reverse description | The reverse features the White Greyhound of Richmond, one of the ten Queen's Beasts, depicted in a bold, rampant stance with its right forepaw raised, wearing a crowned collar with a ring. The greyhound stands over a heraldic shield bearing a Tudor rose surmounted by a royal crown, rendered in high relief against a polished proof field. The date 2021 is divided on either side of the greyhound's head at the top of the design, flanked by decorative dots. The circular legend WHITE GREYHOUND OF RICHMOND runs around the lower portion of the field, with the engraver's initials JC appearing to the lower right of the shield. The composition is bold and sculptural, consistent with the Queen's Beasts series aesthetic designed by Jody Clark. |
