| Obverse description | The fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark, occupies the central silver field, depicting a right-facing crowned and draped bust of the Queen adorned with a pearl necklace and drop earring. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the coronet. The gold-plated outer ring carries the legend ELIZABETH II • BRITISH INDIAN OCEAN TERRITORY in raised lettering, with the date 2021 and the mint mark PM inscribed in the lower portion of the ring.
