| Additional information |
Britain and its Crown Dependencies issued a wave of commemoratives for the 1972 silver wedding anniversary of Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, and Jersey's contribution was among the more restrained — a modest authorized mintage that nonetheless found a ready audience in the flourishing collector market of the early 1970s. The Royal Mint struck the piece on Jersey's behalf, as was standard practice for the island's coinage at the time.
KM#37 is occasionally found in original presentation packaging, which meaningfully affects secondary market value.
