Obverse description The fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as designed by Jody Clark, occupies the central field, depicting a mature right-facing portrait of the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem, with a drop earring visible below. The truncation of the bust is unadorned, and the engraver's initials J.C. appear beneath it. The surrounding legend, separated from the central relief by a raised border, reads ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D · 2 POUNDS, distributed around the full circumference in Roman capitals. The proof finish lends exceptional contrast between the frosted effigy and the mirror-polished fields and border.
