Reverse description Three Supermarine Spitfire aircraft are depicted in dynamic formation flight across a finely lined field evoking sky and cloud. The central and largest aircraft, bearing the fuselage code QJ·P, is shown in a banking attitude with elliptical wings prominently displayed and RAF roundels clearly rendered on the upper surfaces; a second Spitfire coded QJ·N appears in the upper right in level flight, while a third coded QJ·S is shown in the lower foreground. The commemorative dates 1918–2018 flank the design along the right rim, and the legend SPITFIRE RAF arcs across the upper border. The engravers' initials NT+RT appear in the lower left field.
