| Obverse description | The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, rendered in high relief as befits a piedfort striking. The crowned bust depicts the Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, with the drapery of her robes visible at the shoulder truncation. The legend encircles the field, bearing the monarch's titles and the denomination with the date, separated by raised pellet stops. The portrait is the work of engraver Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials IRB appear below the effigy. |
