| Reverse description | The copper-nickel centre features a full-colour applied image of a meerkat (Suricata suricatta) depicted standing upright in an alert sentinel posture, rendered against a naturalistic background of sandy ground and dry savanna grasses, as designed by Rosemary Blackmore. The nickel brass outer ring is adorned with foliate vine ornaments flanking the inscriptions. The legend 60 YEARS OF JERSEY ZOO arcs across the upper portion of the ring, while the founding and anniversary dates 1959 and 2019, separated by a small circular ornament, appear along the lower portion. |
