Obverse description The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, sculpted by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted in right-facing bust wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The portrait is rendered in fine relief with the Queen shown in a lightly draped manner consistent with the IRB series introduced in 1998. The encircling legend reads the full royal title in abbreviated Latin, with the designer's initials IRB appearing below the truncation of the bust. The denomination 2 POUNDS is incorporated within the legend.
