| Obverse description | Third portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the George IV State Diadem, as modelled by Raphael David Maklouf. The truncation of the bust is visible at the lower centre of the copper-nickel inner disc. The legend 'ISLE OF MAN' arcs along the left of the brass outer ring and 'ELIZABETH II' along the right, separated by small decorative stars at the top. The date '1997' appears in the exergue at the base of the outer ring, with a beaded inner border separating the ring from the central disc. |
