Reverse description The celebrated Pistrucci design of Saint George, helmeted and armoured, mounted on a rearing horse and slaying the dragon with a broken lance, the dragon writhing beneath the horse's hooves. The composition is rendered with exceptional sculptural vitality characteristic of Benedetto Pistrucci's original masterwork. The date 1902 appears in the lower exergue, flanked by the Sydney mint mark 'S' to the left and Pistrucci's initials 'B.P.' to the right. The design is contained within a plain inner border with a milled outer rim.
