The Southern Railway circular roundel is prominently displayed on the smokebox door, and the locomotive number 21C11 is inscribed on the running plate. The nickel brass outer ring bears the legend SOUTHERN RAILWAY arcing across the upper field and TWO POUNDS along the lower arc, separated by decorative foliate motifs at each side. |
