Obverse description Left-facing crowned effigy of King Charles III, depicted wearing St. Edward's Crown with elaborate fleur-de-lis and cross-pattée decoration rendered in fine relief. The portrait, sculpted by Martin Jennings, shows the King's bare neck and shoulders against a finely engine-turned guilloche field. The circular Latin legend runs around the periphery, interrupted at the lower right by the engraver's initials 'MJ', with the denomination '2 POUNDS' incorporated into the legend at the lower right.
