| Obverse description | Cream paper Gutschein printed by letterpress in dark blue, with a dashed outer frame and an inner ruled border incorporating decorative spiral corner ornaments. A pale rose-red guilloche underprint repeating the issuer name 'Klostergutsverwaltung Ettal' occupies the central field, over which the denomination 'zwei Pfennige', redemption terms to 31 December 1917, and a facsimile manuscript signature under 'Die Klostergutsverwaltung' are set in Gothic Fraktur script. A diagonal dark-blue overprint reading 'Notausgabe' with month designations 'April' and 'Juli' crosses the face, and the printer's imprint 'Gesetzlich geschützt. J. P. Himmer, Augsburg.' appears in the lower margin. |
