Obverse description Central field dominated by the large intertwined royal cypher 'HN' (Hieronymus Napoleonis), formed by the conjoined initials of King Jérôme Bonaparte in his Latinised regnal name, surmounted by a royal crown in high relief. The mint mark 'C' for the Kassel mint appears below the monogram in the lower field. The design is bold and unadorned, with no surrounding legend, in the neoclassical style characteristic of Napoleonic-era coinage.
