| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the large six-spoked wheel of Mainz, the principal heraldic charge of the Archbishopric, flanked symmetrically by foliate branches. A sword is crossed behind the wheel to the left and an archbishop's crozier to the right, referencing the temporal and spiritual authority of the see. The entire device is surmounted by an ecclesiastical crown topped with a cross pattée. No peripheral legend is present; the design fills the field in a bold, baroque heraldic style. |
