Reverse description The denomination numeral '2' is prominently displayed in the upper field in large incuse-style raised lettering, followed by the inscription PFENNIG arranged across the centre of the field, and the date 1796 beneath in a curved line. The design is typographically plain with no additional ornament, relying entirely on bold lettering to fill the flan. The flat, unadorned field is typical of minor copper coinage of the late eighteenth-century German states.
