Reverse description A large, full-canopied tree — symbolic of the Honduran oak — stands rooted in a grassy mound at centre, its spreading branches heavily laden with foliage and fruit. The denomination 2 Ps. is inscribed in the lower field on either side of the trunk within a raised inner circle. The peripheral legend LIBRE CREZCA FECUNDO (Free grows fertile) arcs across the upper portion, while the mint mark T, date 1862, and assayer initial A are arranged in the lower segment separated by raised dots, all within a toothed outer border.
