| Obverse description | The obverse is dominated by a central intaglio vignette of a seated allegorical female figure rendered in a classical style, framed by intricate guilloche rosettes on either side bearing the fractional numeral '2½'. The heading 'CASA DE MONEDA DE MEDELLÍN' appears in bold letterpress across the upper portion, with the denomination 'DOS PESOS CINCUENTA CENTAVOS' inscribed along the lower panel alongside the place and date of issue.
