Obverse description Central radiant sun motif with numerous straight rays emanating from a circular central boss, occupying the majority of the field. The design is rendered in a bold, primitive style characteristic of Revolutionary-era Mexican emergency coinage. A fine beaded border encircles the entire obverse. The legend REPUBLICA MEXICANA is believed to appear on this face, consistent with the broader series. Note: the coin contains 595 milligrams of fine gold, and weight varies from 18.27 to 20.08 g, with diameter varying from 34.5 to 35 mm.
