Argentina's 1982 South Atlantic War — the Falklands conflict — lasted 74 days and ended in a defeat that accelerated the collapse of the military junta already crumbling under its own contradictions. The 25th anniversary commemorative program produced two edge variants, plain and reeded, distinguished in the catalog by the KM suffixes .1 and .2. The plain edge is the scarcer of the two in accumulated dealer stock, though neither was struck in limited quantities by commemorative standards.
