Palawan's wartime emergency notes occupy a distinct position among Philippine guerrilla currency. Brooke's Point, a remote settlement on the island's southern tip, served as the administrative refuge for provincial officials after the Japanese occupation of Puerto Princesa in 1942. The notes issued under this authority were produced under genuinely difficult conditions — limited paper stocks, improvised printing, and no access to secure engraving facilities.

Pick 926 is among the issues where paper quality and ink consistency vary noticeably between surviving examples, a direct consequence of supply interruptions rather than printer negligence. MacArthur's eventual liberation campaign reached Palawan in early 1945, after which these notes were redeemed and withdrawn.
