Obverse description The obverse is a plainly printed emergency issue on white paper, with a decorative border of repeating geometric ornaments framing the entire note. A red circular seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines is struck to the left of centre. The central text, printed by letterpress, identifies the note as a Treasury Emergency Currency Certificate issued by authority of the President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, with the denomination TWO PESOS in large bold type above the issuer name. Series designation 'DD' and a serial number appear to the upper right, with three facsimile signatures of board members printed along the lower portion.
