Obverse description Black intaglio on light-brown and green underprint, with a cherub vignette at left, the Argentine Coat of Arms at center, and a portrait of General Carlos María de Alvear at right. The overall layout is framed by fine guilloche borders characteristic of late 19th-century bank note engraving. Text panels above and below carry the statutory authorization and payment obligation inscriptions.

Reverse description Printed in red-brown, the reverse is dominated by three large ornate lobed guilloche panels arranged horizontally, each bearing the numeral "2" in white relief; the word "DOS" appears in bold serif lettering at the lower left and lower right corners. A central oval medallion with intricate lathe-work surrounds the numeral "2" and the word "PESOS", flanked by elaborate scrollwork and floral arabesques. Two blocks of small-print legal text occupy the upper left and upper right margins.
