Obverse description Green note with the bank title EL BANCO PROVINCIAL DE TUCUMÁN across the top in bold lettering. A central oval portrait vignette shows a male figure in formal attire, flanked on either side by the numeral 2 and by ornamental guilloche rosettes bearing the legend MON. NAC. ORO. The lower portion carries the denomination DOS PESOS in large type above the clause MONEDA NACIONAL ORO, SEGUN LEY DE 5 DE NOVIEMBRE DE 1881, the place and date TUCUMAN 19 DE MARZO 1888, and two manuscript signatures over the printed titles GERENTE and PRESIDENTE.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in a pale rose-brown tone and consists entirely of an elaborate guilloche lathe-work pattern covering the full field, with interlocking rosettes and geometric engine-turned designs. The text EL BANCO PROVINCIAL DE TUCUMÁN is set within the central band, accompanied by the word DOS at right. No pictorial vignette is present; the security effect is achieved solely through the complexity of the mechanical engraving.
