Obverse description Draped bust of Liberty facing left, her hair elaborately braided and adorned with a diadem inscribed LIBERTAD. The truncation is finely detailed with drapery folds and a bow at the neckline. The date appears in the lower field below the bust. The surrounding legend reads REPUBLICA DE LA NUEVA GRANADA, with a finely milled border encircling the entire design.

Reverse description The national coat of arms of Nueva Granada (type 1834–1861) occupies the central field, featuring a condor with outstretched wings perched atop a ribbon banner above a shield. The denomination DOS PESOS is inscribed above, with the mint name POPAYAN and assayer initials flanking the sides of the design. The legend LIBERTAD I ORDEN appears in the lower portion, completing the patriotic reverse composition.
