Fiñana is a small municipality in Almería province, and like hundreds of Spanish towns during the Civil War, its local council issued emergency fractional currency when Republican-zone coinage vanished from circulation almost entirely after 1936. These consejo municipal notes were produced locally, often on whatever paper and printing equipment was available, with virtually no standardization across the thousands of issuers. Gari Montaner's catalog remains the primary reference for this chaotic body of material, and many entries in it are known from only a handful of survivors.

The 647-D suffix indicates a specific type distinction within the Fiñana listings — likely a color, paper, or typographic variant.
