Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of George III facing right, engraved by Conrad Heinrich Küchler in a bold, neoclassical style. The king's hair is bound with a laurel wreath, with flowing locks visible beneath the neckline. The bust is set within a wide, raised rim characteristic of Soho Mint coinage. The encircling legend reads GEORGIUS III·D:G·REX· in Roman capitals, evenly spaced around the periphery. The field is smooth and slightly concave, with strong relief on the portrait.
