Reverse description Central design features a peregrine falcon, the heraldic bird associated with the Isle of Man, perched facing right within a heraldic shield. The shield is surmounted by a sprig of foliage and flanked on either side by ornate botanical and heraldic decorative elements including oak leaves, thistles, and stylised floral sprays. The numeral 2 appears at the base of the shield. The engraver's initials AA are visible in the lower field below the shield. The overall composition alludes to the quincentenary of the College of Arms, celebrated in 1484–1984.
