Reverse description The reverse displays a bold close-up segment of the Royal Shield of Arms, designed by Matthew Dent as part of his celebrated jigsaw shield series introduced in 2008. The upper-right quadrant of the shield is depicted, featuring a rampant lion amid a field of fleurs-de-lis on a finely granulated background, with the shield's decorative border and beaded inner frame clearly delineated. The denomination 'TWO PENCE' is inscribed in a curved legend above the shield segment, and the engraver's initials 'MD' appear at the lower right of the design.
