Stoltenhoff Island is one of the Tristan da Cunha group in the South Atlantic — uninhabited, roughly two square kilometers, and home to no economy whatsoever. Coins issued in its name are fiscal instruments of the Tristan da Cunha dependency administration, produced for collector sale rather than any local commerce. The KM#3 reference places this squarely in a small series of denominated pieces issued under that administrative umbrella around 2008.
