Reverse description Central depiction of the Hermitage of St. Helier, a historic rocky islet refuge off the coast of Jersey, rendered in fine detail showing the rocky outcrop and the small oratory structure atop it. The circumferential legend BAILIWICK OF JERSEY arcs across the upper portion of the field, while the denomination TWO PENCE is inscribed along the lower arc. The design is engraved by Robert Lowe and the overall composition fills the flan with strong relief against a mirrored proof field.
