| Obverse description | Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, depicted with an elaborate Tudor-style crown and softly styled hair, engraved in fine relief against a plain field. The legend QUEEN ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left periphery, while GOUGH ISLAND and TRISTAN DA CUNHA are inscribed vertically along the right side of the field. The date 2009 appears in the lower exergue. The rim is bordered by a neat dentilated inner ring consistent with the medallic style of this issue. |
