Reverse description A long ornate cross pattee dominates the central field, its four arms terminating at the beaded inner circle and creating four quadrants each occupied by a rampant lion passant. A Gothic letter 'B', the mint mark for Brussels, is placed at the centre of the cross. The surrounding legend in Gothic uncial script reads as a devotional invocation, separated by annulets, and is contained between two concentric beaded circles.
