Obverse description Two addorsed seated lions face one another in the field, flanking a central firesteel (briquet) with flint and radiating sparks above — the heraldic emblem of the Order of the Golden Fleece and the Burgundian dynasty. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the circumferential Latin legend running between two beaded borders. The legend terminates with the mintmark of the Antwerp mint. The overall composition is characteristic of the Burgundian 'double briquet' type struck under Mary of Burgundy.
