Obverse description Central shield bearing the quartered arms of Bavaria-Palatinate — lozengy fusilly of blue and white for Bavaria impaling the lion of the Palatinate — surmounted by a princely crown. The arms are displayed over a floriated cross with ornamental terminals extending into the four quarters of the field. The circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, partially visible due to the irregular flan.
