Obverse description Central device featuring two crossed khukuri (Nepalese curved knives) surmounted by a trident (trishul), all enclosed within a raised inner circle. A Devanagari legend in bold relief runs around the outer annulus, separated from the central device by a plain ring. The entire design is bordered by a continuous beaded rim. The legend records the regnal name of King Tribhuvana Bir Bikram and the Vikrama Samvat date.
