Nepal's copper coinage of this period was struck under Tribhuvan, who would later become the central figure in the 1951 revolution that ended Rana oligarchic rule — though in 1935 he remained largely a ceremonial monarch under Rana prime ministerial control. The coins issued in his name during these decades carried royal authority he did not yet exercise in practice.
