| Obverse description | The Israeli State Emblem (menorah flanked by olive branches) appears prominently in the upper central field, accompanied by the country name 'Israel' inscribed in Hebrew, Arabic, and Latin. The face value of 2 New Shekels is stated below the emblem, alongside the dual-calendar mint year 2023/5783. A mint mark appears to the left — a Hebrew letter 'Mem' on Proof-finish examples, or a Star of David on Prooflike-finish examples. The lower portion of the obverse bears an Arabic-language inscription identifying Shimon Peres and referencing the Nobel Peace Prize of 1994, accompanied by a stylised Dove of Peace carrying an olive branch in its beak. |

| Additional information |
Shimon Peres died in September 2016, and this commemorative was issued as part of the Bank of Israel's ongoing series honoring Israeli heads of state and national figures — Peres having served as both President and Prime Minister, one of very few figures in Israeli history to hold both offices. The 2023 date places it among a cluster of silver issues the Bank of Israel released through its official collector program, distributed primarily through authorized dealers rather than general circulation channels.
