Reverse description Central square hole flanked by mint and denomination marks arranged in cruciform layout within a plain circular border. The character 營 (Yong), denoting a Special Army Unit mint, appears at the top. The character 宙 (Chu), signifying 'infinite time' and serving as a serial or batch designation, appears at the bottom. A crescent symbol occupies the right field and a circle occupies the left field, both serving as additional mint control marks. All characters and symbols are cast in regular script consistent with Joseon-period cash coinage conventions.

Additional information

The "Mun" coinages of mid-Joseon were produced by a bewildering array of government bureaus, military offices, and provincial agencies — each authorized to strike independently, which is precisely why catalog differentiation relies so heavily on the reverse furnace marks rather than any central mint record. This piece falls within the decade when the Joseon court was attempting, with limited success, to impose tighter controls on rampant cash shortages that had plagued the peninsula since the Imjin War a century and a half earlier.

The "Infinite time" designation in the series refers to the Sangpyeong Tongbo coinage system's internal classification, not a translation of a legend. KM#333.1 distinguishes this variety by its specific reverse characters identifying the issuing office.
