Obverse description Heraldic cross pattée dividing the field into four quarters, each charged with a lion passant in low relief, consistent with the arms of Sombreffe. A small crown appears at the top of the cross. The design is executed in a rough, provincial hammered style typical of small Flemish lordship coinage of the fifteenth century. The legend encircles the central device within a beaded or plain inner circle.
