Reverse description Central field features a long cross with flared terminals, at the center of which is placed a fleur-de-lis, a heraldic emblem associated with the Burgundian dynasty. The cross is contained within a plain inner circle, creating a quartered field typical of late medieval Flemish billon coinage. The surrounding legend in uncial Latin reads In nOMInE DOMInI, the well-known devotional formula invoking the name of the Lord, interspersed with decorative star stops. A cross precedes the legend. The overall execution is characteristic of hammered coinage struck at Bruges or Ghent during the regency period of Philip the Handsome.
