Reverse description Within a plain inner circle bordered by a beaded ring, a short cross pattee is centrally positioned in the field, its flared arms nearly reaching the inner circle. The surrounding legend in uncial characters reads + mONETA FLAND`, identifying this as the coinage of Flanders. The outer border mirrors the obverse with the same alternating lobe-and-point toothed rim characteristic of hammered Flemish billon issues of the period.
